The Process: (closed now) 

If you wish to vote in our candidate endorsement process for Mayor, At-Large or District 4, we must verify that you are a registered voter in Nueces County precincts 40, 81, or the Corpus Christi parts of 19. Once you are verified, you will receive a ballot via email. 

In order to receive a ballot, please email us at IslandUnitedPAC@gmail.com with your request, name, address, and phone number where you can be reached. Ballots are due emailed back to us by Monday, October 5 at noon.

We hope that you will watch all the forums (either live or recorded) before making your decision and placing your vote. 

With so many choices on the ballot this year (9 for Mayor!), it is possible that no one candidate will receive more than 50% of our vote. In order to make sure that the candidate with the most votes AND broadest support wins our endorsement, we are using a ranked choice (or instant-runoff) method of voting for our Mayor and District 4 endorsements. You will have the chance to rank your choices in order of preference. All instructions will be enclosed with your email ballot.

(At-large will still be voted and tallied the same as in past years: the top 3 vote getters will receive our endorsement.) 

IMPORTANT INSTANT-RUNOFF VOTING INSTRUCTIONS
*Return the email ballot to IslandUnitedPAC@Gmail.com with the bottom (ballot part) filled in
*Please put your top Mayoral or D4 choice in place 1.
*Please put your second choice in place 2.
*Please put your third choice in place 3. Continue as desired.
*You do not need to rank all the candidates.
*Only write one candidate per line.
*Only use each candidate name once.

**NOTE: Voting for only your first choice will not help their chances of winning- it only means that you will not have a second choice to count if needed.***

Counting Votes:
*First choices will be counted.
*If a candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, they win.
*If no one candidate wins over 50% of the vote, the last place candidate will be dropped.
*Anyone who voted for the last place candidate will have their next choice counted.
*This process will continue until someone receives over 50% of the vote.
